About Rundevilrun records
RunDevilRun was formed in order to fill a gap. A gap existing mainly in our hearts and souls : the incapability to control the progress of our music-making from start to end and the agony of the artist for his creations future . Also we think this label as a way for recording musicians and artists to be fully independed and self-managed at least artistically speaking. We would like to see this label as a “home” for all those artists who have something to say but the “big” labels or even the “majority right” won’t let them speak .We hope that RunDevilRun will be a truly independed label, away from cheap financial tricks and mainstream “selling” and promoting techniques but also away from fake dilemmas and fake “artistic” quests .
In order to achieve these goals our only “weapon” is to produce high quality music , artistically and technically speaking .
About cd prices, promoting and other stuff...
We believe that today’s CD prices are outrageous and disturbing for the music fans and that is something we‘ll try to change , at least for our own releases . So we are trying to create our own distribution network, selling directly to the record stores or even directly to you via mail-order .As you can understand this can cause a certain amount of latency in the procedure of getting our music to you .But that is the true meaning of being really indepented .So please be patient , inform us about anything you find useful (local record shops , interesting new bands , live music places EVERYTHING!!!) and spread the news!!!
About piracy and music on the Web....
Well , we strongly believe that the so called “piracy” is a result of the big label’s greedy
and out of control behavior and competition . The prices are very high , the quality is very low and the “quantity” is enormous . That is why that “piracy” thing can only hurt those who already have hurt music. It is the right time for minor indie labels to recreate an alternative , healthy music scene based on today’s underground so tomorrow it can be a new musical “explosion” . As for downloading and copying we have this motto:
Feel free to copy or download our music , just do it with respect for the artist or the band. Use the highest bit rate and make sure that you retain the sound quality of the original recording . Downloading and the web in general is one of the best ways for promoting our music and of course we support it , remember though that for small labels like this CD sales are the only income .So download our music and if you like it go out and buy it!!!
